Come along and join a guided tour in Carl Linnaeus' botanical garden, a living textbook of the medicine and botany of the 18th century. Guided tours in Swedish at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm and in English at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm.
The Linnaeus Garden is an educational garden, created for teaching Carl Linnaeus' new system to "organize" and categorize nature in the best way. In the 18th century, students of medicine arrived here to learn about medicinal plants, health and botany. Linnaeus also taught outside in nature, around Uppsala. He was a very good educator and teacher and the students lined up for his classes on a level that made his colleagues envious.
During the guided tours in the Linnaeus Garden you will learn more about Linnaeus' way of teaching, about his revolutionary way of naming species and about his sexual system for classification. Mobile hearing loop available.
