A Linnaean Garden Party
Celebrate Linnaeus' birthday and join us at the garden party. Time travel to the 18th century, hear the rustle of silk skirts, see silver shoe buckles glisten and sample artisan food. Meet scientists, experiment and learn more about Linnaean science. Guided tours in English in the garden at 11:30 and 14:30.

Artist Talks – Flying Seeds
The three Japanese artists Hiroshi Kakizaki, Masako Suenaga and Yoko Tamura talk about their respective installations in the exhibition Flying Seeds (interpreted from Japanese to Swedish).

The Canorus choir holds a walking concert together with guide Marie Almquist. Canorus is a mixed choir with a wide repertoire. Follow along and enjoy the voices, even if you perhaps don't understand the language they sing in!

Pictures of Sweden's floral emblem Scottish bluebell
During the summer and autumn of 2021, the Swedish Botanical Society arranged a contest to celebrate our new national emblem: the Scottish bluebell, Campanula rotundifolia, known in Sweden as "small bluebell". In this exhibition, the Society shows a selection of contributions in different techniques - photo, painting and digital illustrations.

Haymaking at Hammarby
During Linnaeus' time the meadows were harvested to provide winter feed to the farm's animals. Join us in the Cultural Reserve - learn how to use scythe and rake and how to dry hay on a hayrack. Buy old varieties of vegetables from the kitchen garden. Go on a guided tour in the Reserve together with the peasants or the agricultural historians.

Extended opening hours until 19.00 during Monday-Friday 25-29 July. Guided tours adapted for families throughout July 27th, about the flower king Carolus Linnaeus – Uppsala's most well known celebrity.

O-ringen special in the tropics
Uppsala's only rainforest is located in the Tropical Greenhouse, with palm trees, giant water lilies, banana plants and dart frogs.
Come on in and explore under tall trees and along winding paths. Admire the almost two meters wide floating leaves of the Santa Cruz water lily. Listen to the song of the poison dart frogs. Learn more about our fascinating plants.

Country fair at Hammarby
Buy locally produced artisan crafts and freshly harvested vegetables at the cozy country fair, organised by Hammarby's friend association. Come along on walks with the farmers and the agricultural historians. Let the children go on a pony ride or try on 18th century clothing. Watch when we dye yarn and spin wool. Inauguration of the renovated soldier's croft.

Magnus Uggla, Miss Li and Petter in the Baroque Garden
In the autumn of 2019, Swedish TV program "Så mycket bättre" (so much better) celebrated ten years by inviting well known artists from previous years, alongside Petter, Miss Li and Magnus Uggla. In the summer of 2020 the trio was scheduled to join up again – now we get to listen to them in 2022 instead!

It is harvest time at Carl Linnaeus' country estate! We harvest hops, oats and barley in the restored farmland surrounding Linnaeus' country house. Learn about old varieties of hops, and beer brewing. Please note the might be changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Botanical Garden provides an ambient setting for moving meditation, Japanese culture and martial arts, classical music, and a traditional fire show. Explore the Tropical Greenhouse and hear the frogs sing. If you are lucky, the giant water lily will show you its flower.
