  A New Year at the Tropical Greenhouse

  Forget winter for a while in the green, light and warm environment of the Tropical Greenhouse. Take a stroll through the rainforest or charge your batteries by the banana plant and meditate to the song of frogs.

  Volunteer in Linnaeus' meadows

  Help us to tidy up Carl Linnaeus' meadows efter the winter. We clear the meadows from branches, rake them, light fires and learn more about 18th century farming. There are hot dogs and soft drinks for all helpers. Don't miss out on a great opportunity to experience Swedish spring in a vibrant historical environment!

  The Linnaean garden season begins 2024

  Meet spring in the Linnaean Gardens of Uppsala. Enjoy the seasonal flowers, explore Carl Linnaeus' homes in town and in the country and have a "fika" or lunch in the garden cafés.

  Come along on guided tours and on walks in the park and the Cultural Reserve. Activities for the whole family.

  A Linnaean Garden Party

  Celebrate Linnaeus' birthday and join us at the garden party. Time travel to the 18th century, hear the rustle of silk skirts, see silver shoe buckles glisten and sample artisan food. Meet scientists, experiment and learn more about Linnaean science. Guided tours in English in the garden at 11:30 and 14:30.

  Museum Night - In the Tropics

  Experience the dusk and the summer night in Uppsala's finest rainforest, open 11:00–16:00 and 19:00–23:00.

  14:00 Guided tour of the garden, in English. Starts at the Tropical Greenhouse.

  Haymaking at Hammarby

  During Linnaeus' time the meadows were harvested to provide winter feed to the farm's animals. Join us in the Cultural Reserve - learn how to use scythe and rake and how to dry hay on a hayrack. Buy old varieties of vegetables from the kitchen garden. Go on a guided tour in the Reserve together with the peasants or the agricultural historians.

  Hops, Oats and Barley

  It is harvest time at Carl Linnaeus' country estate! We harvest hops and learn about old varieties of hops.

  Garden and food fair with trade stands, experts, vegetable shows and a multitude of Geraniums on display.

  The Culture Night in The Botanical Garden 2023

  The Botanical Garden provides an ambient setting for moving meditation, martial arts, classical music, and a traditional fire show. Explore the Tropical Greenhouse and hear the frogs sing. If you are lucky, the giant water lily will show you its flower. The Greenhouse is open 12:00–20:00, admission fre 60 Skr.

  Apple days

  Did you know that over 200 varieties of apples are grown in Sweden? Get to know a good quarter of them at our apple exhibition. Find out which apples you have in your garden. Have the variety of your own apples determined or bring a bag of apples and have them juiced.

  After the weekend at Hammarby, the exhibition moves into the city and Linneanum in the Botanical Garden.
